During the months between October and March is prime time for everybody’s pet hate which is of is of course flies. These pesky insects are very mobile and they breed prolifically. When you understand their interchange between rotting food, excrement and waste products to your food and utensils it is easy to see why we need appropriate control.
There are three main species of flies that are considered to be the most problematic, being the House Fly, Fruit Fly and Blow Fly. As Flies have a complete life cycle they can mate while flying. Their eggs are laid into suitable surfaces and / or close to food source. Fly larvae complete their development pupating on surfaces, soil, organic matter, water, plant tissue or animal tissue. They carry a wide range of diseases including Salmonella, Cholera, Dysentery and Hepatitis. It is important to keep bin areas sanitized, tidy up dog and cat excrement and install fly screens around your home.
